Love For Learning
Boys & Girls Nursery was established in 2007 and is widely regarded as being your local #expertsinchildcare. With a highly qualified team, we help children grow into respectful, confident, independent learners who develop a love for learning to take forward in their future education.
Our Mission
Our mission is to nurture, educate and inspire every child into confident life-long learners who develop respect and become valued members of the community. We strive to provide a fun environment which promotes learning and challenges creativity, curiosity and imagination.
The EYFS Curriculum
We follow the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, a government framework that focusses on development and learning for children from birth up to the age of five.
As part of the EYFS goals, we must ensure that all children:
- make good progress and learn well
- are kept healthy and safe
- are “school ready” by the time they reach the age of five
- have a broad range of knowledge and skills
- have a learning and development programme drawn up that is appropriate to their own stage of development
In addition, we must demonstrate:
- a strong partnership with parents and/or carers
- robust safeguarding practices
- equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice
Fun & Stimulating
Every child is assigned a key person who is responsible for observing, assessing and planning targeted activities to ensure all children are making good progress in their learning.
Activities are carefully balanced between structured play and child-led fun, where children choose what they want to do. This means that no matter how old your child is, we make sure all learning at Boys & Girls Nursery is fun and stimulating.
Children are given individual learning profiles which we share with you on our parent app. You are encouraged to add your own information to help staff plan and develop further learning.
In our upper nurseries we tailor your child’s individual learning goals to ensure they leave us prepared for their next step at school. Our SchoolReady Programme is fully embedded in our Pre-School Rooms.
