We are flexible to ensure a balance of having longer days when your commitments require it, or to enable you to make the most of those sunny days and special family occasions.
Modern learning rooms
Our modern learning rooms provide a fun and stimulating environment to inspire young children in our care. Resources and facilities are chosen specifically for the age group of the room and to ensure there is a balance of structured play and learning alongside child led activities, where children independently choose what they want to do.
All-weather outdoor gardens
Outdoor play is vital for a child’s mental and physical development and our nurseries all benefit from excellent outdoor facilities which are used all year round. We promote free flow play and encourage all children to enjoy and explore our gardens and outside areas. Activities are provided that compliment and extend the indoor learning environment. Engaging in outdoor play provides children with a safe space to learn new skills and explore.
Bespoke learning & curriculum
At Boys & Girls Nursery we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum. Your child will be assigned a key person and their individual progress is continuously observed and assessed whilst activity plans ensure children are making good progress in all areas of their learning and development. Extra-curricular clubs expand our children’s experiences at nursery, from sports sessions, music and movement classes, through to phonics. Our school-ready programme is fully embedded in our Pre-School rooms ensuring our children leave us ready for their next adventure at school.
Nutrition, health & wellbeing
We understand the importance of building healthy habits for life from a young age. We work closely with a registered nutritionist to provide a well-balanced meal plan and our on-site nursery chefs prepare freshly cooked meals every day for our children to enjoy. We regularly partake in activities with our children to build an understanding of what keeps us healthy. We look at different food groups, the importance of keeping our bodies moving and healthy and what contributes to good oral hygiene. There are designated well-being areas within each nursery, allowing our children the space for quiet time when needed.
Highly qualified, long standing team
We are lucky to have highly experienced childcare practitioners throughout our nurseries providing support and sharing expertise. Many of our team have been with us since the beginning of the Boys & Girls journey! This wealth of experience ensures our children are nurtured from Babies through to Pre-School, leaving us as independent, confident, life-long learners who are ready for school. We encourage our team to develop their own skills and provide a wealth of training opportunities, from Level 2 & 3 childcare courses, First Aid Training, Food Hygiene and more.
Peace of mind with CCTV & secure environment
Your child’s safety and wellbeing whilst in our care is of the utmost importance to us. Entry to our bright and welcoming receptions can only be accessed via our secure entry phone system. We do not allow anybody into the nursery that we do not know without firstly enquiring who they are and the purpose of their visit. When your child joins us, we will ask you to stipulate who is and isn’t allowed to collect your child and you will also be asked to supply us with a password. Additionally, all rooms and gardens are monitored by CCTV and we invite parents to watch this from the reception area to ensure their little one has settled. You are also free to drop into the nursery at any time to view your child at play if you wish to.
Valued parent partnerships
We value the close relationship we have with parents, so in addition to your daily handover, we also hold a more formal evening. During our annual Parents Evening, you will have a chance to meet your child’s key person and discuss their development. We hold monthly Learning Together Events to coincide with days of interest and festivals such as Mother’s / Father’s Day, Easter, Christmas, Diwali and Chinese New Year. You are invited to come into nursery to spend time with all of us and enjoy activities together.
